DAN BALDA, MD
Dr. Balda is a physician and engineer by training, an entrepreneur by luck, a pilot for fun and a dad by choice. He is passionate about mentoring and connecting entrepreneurs and has formed and participated on over two dozen advisory and governance boards.
Dr. Balda has more than 30 years of experience as an executive and operator. At Medicomp, Inc., a medical services company, he went from stock boy to CEO in 15 years. He grew organic revenue by 20x and secured angel funding while pivoting to become a service company before merging with United Therapeutics. Dr. Balda then acquired Medicomp back from United Therapeutics and redefined the company’s vision and culture. Dr. Balda secured contracts that led to Medicomp’s equipment monitoring the multinational crews of the Mir space station and later the International Space Station and monitoring US soldiers abroad during foreign wars. He has led launches of FDA approved medical products, authored multiple patents and founded an aviation start up.
